Annual Appeal

The YMCA of Western Ontariohas a long and proud history, first opening its doors in London in 1856. Our mission is to “provide opportunities for personal growth in spirit, mind, and body for people of all backgrounds, beliefs and abilities.” The YMCA of Western Ontario has served our community for the past 150 years because of the commitment of volunteers and philanthropic support of corporate foundation and individual donors.

Today, the YMCA is a meeting place for people of all ages from all walks of life, with different abilities and varied backgrounds. While seniors partake in special swim classes for arthritis, preschoolers are learning to swim in the adjacent pool. Thousands of adults and children participate in fitness classes, camps, childcare, health and community programs.

The YMCA is of central importance to the community where people meet and discover common needs or interests. The YMCA does not turn anyone away; each year 30% of Y members receive subsidies. Without our generous donors, these people would not have the opportunity to participate in the programs we provide.

The YMCA is a registered charity that has been a vital part of our community for 150 years. We need your help to ensure that we continue to sustain and enhance the essential services we offer to improve the quality of life in our community.

Your support will help send more kids to camp, support the cost of childcare for families in financial need, help youth find meaningful employment and keep seniors stay healthy and vibrant.

Your gift will help sustain and improve the YMCA's programming and infrastructure to ensure children and families can continue to be solid, contributing members of our society. You may choose to direct your gift to youth and preschool activities, leadership training, children with special needs, childcare services, camping or the YMCA’s highest priority needs.

Any level of gift that you can provide will help the YMCA of Western Ontario achieve important goals.
