Babysitting Course**
Become a certified babysitter with a recognized organization. Participants will receive hands on experience within the Y and assignments to complete.

LSS - National Lifeguard Recert**
This recertification clinic is for certified NLS lifeguards. This recertification includes the 2005 Resuscitation Standard Updates. You must bring your NLS Card and photo identification to the course, as well as proof of your current Standard First Aid with
CPR-C. This is a re-exam situation and involves lifeguarding skills, first aid skills, fitness skills and situations.

LSS - National Lifeguard Service**
This course is required to become a certified lifeguard. You learn various lifesaving techniques and take part in practical situations. Current Bronze Cross and Standard First Aid with CPR ‘C’, 16 years of age and older. Extra Charges for manuals.

LSS - Bronze Cross**
Second step in Advanced Lifesaving. Emphasis is placed on the recognition of emergencies and how to respond to these emergencies. Spinal rollovers are introduced.

LSS - Bronze Medallion and Emergency First Aid**
First step in Advanced Lifesaving. Emphasis is placed on AR, CPR and recovery position, treatment of shock and hypothermia as well as various rescue techniques. Extra charges for manuals. Prerequisite: Current Bronze Star - no age requirement Without Bronze Star- 13 years of age and the ability to tread water for a minimum of 45 seconds.

LSS - Bronze Star**

Advanced lifesaving course designed to prepare participants for Bronze Medallion. Emphasis is placed on rescue drills, fitness skills and victim recognition. Prerequisite: Ability to swim 25 metres, tread water for a minimum of 45 seconds, no age requirement
(recommended 12 years)

Scuba Diving**
Open Water Dive certification course fee includes books and equipment, participants also can join with Mar on an open water trip. Course run by Marlyn
Smith, Dive With Mar. Call 519-672-3100 for details. Standard First Aid and CPR**
This is a full two day course. Participants will learn components of first aid, resuscitation and will participate in practice scenarios. Written open-book
test must be completed. Course includes training for public access defibrillators.

Standard First Aid/CPR Recert**
This is re-examination of skills completed in a full First Aid / CPR course. Participants will be retested on the components of first aid, resuscitation and will participate in practice scenarios. Written open-book test must be completed. Course includes training for
public access defibrillators.

YMCA Aqua Fitness Stream**
The intent of this stream is to develop fitness leaders who are able to teach water based group fitness class in shallow or deep water using a system of safe and effective exercises. This course is 8 hours in length and 100% attendance is required.
Successful completion of YMCA Group Fundamentals is a prerequisite for this course.

YMCA Basic Theory**
The YMCA Basic Theory course is the first stage of the YMCA Fitness Leadership Program. The general intent of this course is to provide information that
every Fitness Leader must know, prior to moving onto the Applied Theory. Candidates will acquire basic knowledge in anatomy and physiology, principles of training, movement mechanics leadership, program planning, healthy lifestyles and
nutrition. This course is 24 hours in length and can be attended by anyone 16 years of age or older.

YMCA Fundamentals of Group Fitness**
This course reviews the fundamentals of group fitness and is a prerequisite to the group fitness streams. Successful completion of Basic Theory is a prerequisite for this course and candidates must attend a minimum of 8 hours as a required standard.

YMCA Group Choreography**
The intent of this course is to understand movement patterns and how to put movements together. It is crucial to designing successful, motivating choreography-based classes. Proir to delving into the components of specific choreography-based group fitness classes, basic movements, movement patterns and axial movements will be discussed. Once mastered, the newly acquired elements will be applied to putting movements together for a specific component of the class. Successful completion of Basic Theroy is required for this course.

YMCA Group Cycling**
The intent of this course is for you to be able to describe the guidelines for bike setup, demonstrate and understand hand position on the handlebar and learn what precautions must be taken to avoid knee, neck, and back pain. You will be able to demonstrate
three different training zones; and explain how to calculate pedal cadence. Successful completion of Basic theory is required for this course.

YMCA Individual Conditioning Level 1**
The intent of this course is to help volunteers build relationships with members in the YMCA Conditioning Centre. This course will help volunteers create a positive atmosphere in the Conditioning Centre where members can strive toward and achieve their goals. This course is 4 hours in length and can be attended by anyone 16 years of age or older.

YMCA Individual Conditioning Level II**
The intent of this course is to help fitness leaders to develop a better understanding of the principles related to the conditioning of an individual. The emphasis is on designing a basic program that includes all components of fitness to develop a well balanced, conditioned individual in a safe, values based environment. This course is a minimum of 16 hours in length and successful completion of Basic Theory is a prerequisite for this course. Candidates must be 21 years or older to enroll in this course.

YMCA Swim Instructor**
This course is designed to certify participants to teach the YMCA Swim program. Participants will participate in group discussions, practice teaches, assignments and group work. Both classroom and pool sessions.

YMCA Swim Instructor Crossover Clinic**
For those who already hold a LSS or Water Safety Instructor Certification. You can be certified as a YMCA Swim Instructor. You must bring your current qualifications with you. Clinic inlcudes both classroom and pool sessions.

YMCA Swim Instructor Recertification**
This recertification clinic is for certified YMCA instructors. You must bring your swim instructor card. Both classroom and pool sessions will be used to inform you of updates, practice teaching methods and you will also participate in group discussions.
