Centre Branch YMCA: GROUP FITNESS

Aikido**: This program will introduce participants to the Japanese martial art of Aikido. Growing in popularity Aikido uses non aggressive, non competitive techniques to redirect aggressive force with timed flowing movements. Participants will be exposed to a number of basic techniques, joint locks, pins and throws used to compromise an attackers balance and stability.

Boot Camp: Circuit Training class consisting of Cardio and weights.Come prepared to work, sweat and reshape your body.

Cardio Blast: This energetic cardio class offers high/low impact options as they develop increased cardiovascular endurance and muscle strength. Instructor will suggest modifications of moves for
participants of all fitness levels.


Core Conditioning: This post- workout blast will increase the participants’ core strength while learning new exercises.

Endurance Cycling: An intense indoor cycling class structured to prepare participants for road racing and includes intermediate to advanced level drills.

Group Ride
Pedal in groups, roll over hills, chase the pack, climb mountains and spin your way to burning calories and strengthening your lower body.
This 60 minute cycling program is geared for anyone that can ride a bike. Motivating music, awesome instructors and an inspiring group
environment lets you Ride On!

Group Cycling: Cardiovascular workout guiding you through a variety of intense levels. Water bottle & towel required.

Group Power: Group Power® is your hour of power! This 60 minute barbell program strengthens all your major muscles in an inspiring, motivating group environment with fantastic music and awesome instructors. With simple, athletic movements such as squats, lunges, presses and curls, Group Power is for all ages and fitness levels. Discover results, discover Group Power!

Karate*: This form of karate is integrated with punching and striking techniques in order to develop accuracy, balance and flexibility.

Kettle Bell**: Touted as one of the most effective and efficient piece of strength training equipment, Kettle Bell training has shown to increase strength, power, speed, coordination, as well as core stability.Small group sizes ensure participants get full instructions, corrections to form and motivation.

   
   
             
  Y Not Shrink It**: The YMCA presents a weight shrink challenge. Members work out as a team with a personal trainer twice a week, and once on their own. Nutritional advice is given with lots of motivation. The participant with the most overall individual weight loss is recognized. Prizes will be given at the end of eight weeks.


Yoga: Techniques focus on postures, breathing and meditation.Participants will gain strength and flexibility, while teaching mind and body relaxation. Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats.


Zumba: Zumba is a fusion of high energy and motivating music with unique, Latin inspired moves and combos that allow you to dance the hour away! Fun and easy to do!
