PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS
(AGES 3 TO 5 YEARS)

Mini Y Combo
1 hour of fun play followed by 1/2 hour fun swim in our pool (2ft depth). Come join us. There is no need to register!
Little Yogis*
Your children will learn, laugh and
experience the wonderful benefits
of yoga’s most playful poses.
L’il Dragons*
This introduction to karate emphasizes fun while showcasing basic karate
techniques.
Preschool Dribblers
Skills, drills and games! Join us in
the gym for this beginner’s basketball program. There is no need to register!
Preschool Floor Hockey
Learn to shoot, pass and score! Drills, skills and play in a non-competetive
environment. Child must bring their
own helmet to participate. There is no need to register!
Preschool Music & Movement*
Explore different styles of music by
listening to & playing simple instruments. Program encourages creativity through dance, singing and action songs while developing a beginning understanding of rhythm and movement.
Preschool Soccer
Learn all the basic skills through drills and team play in this non-competitive environment. There is no need to register!
Preschool T-Ball
This fun, interactive program is intended as an introduction for children to develop basic baseball skills and get prepared for the upcoming season. There is no need to register!
YOUTH PROGRAMS
(AGES 6 TO 13 YEARS UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED)
Babysitting Course** (Ages 11 to 16 years)
Become a trained Babysitter. Participants get hands on experience within the Y and assignments to complete. Please see Membership Services for course dates.
Home Alone** (Ages 10 to 13 years)
Designed for youth who are ready to tackle the challenge of being at home unsupervised. Please see Membership Services for course dates.
Leader Corp*
These programs are designed to help participants build skills that they can use for a lifetime! The program aims to provide a sense of responsibility for the well-being of others and a sound foundation of formal and supervised in-service training that prepares youth for future volunteer and employment opportunities. Jr.10-13 years/Sr. 14-16 years
Youth Combo
Youth Combo offers a variety of activities for children aged 4-13 years old including sports, crafts, active games. The goal of this program is to encourage children to have a healthy lifestyle in a supervised, fun and safe environment. Come join us. No need to register!
Youth Basketball*
Learn to dribble, shoot and pass! Drills, skills and play in a non-competitive environment.
Youth Fit Club*
This program encourages the importance of active living and introduces 10-13 year olds to the fitness centre and using equipment properly and safely in a supervised setting. Graduates that pass the test will receive a shoe tag.
Youth Rolling & Tumbling*
Learn gymnastics techniques while moving to music. Basic skill development and fun are the focus of this program.
Youth Yoga*
Kids have a natural ability to stretch, bend, move and empower their mind and body. This program will promote laughter and playfulness while encouraging your children to settle
their minds and bodies.
Youth Badminton*
This program emphasizes fun, sportsmanship and team play while focusing on skill development such as serving, rallying and coordination.
Youth Dance*
Children will have fun doing different dances in a happy atmosphere with modern music. This program will teach techniques based on dance and movement.
Youth Soccer*
This program emphasizes fun, sportsmanship and team play while focusing on skill development such as passing, shooting and foot work.
Youth Karate*
A nonaggressive approach towards conflict resolution is emphasized in this program as well as instruction in all the basic blocks, kicks and striking techniques.
Youth Dodgeball*
Be active in this non-competitive environment. Each week a new variation of the classic game.
Y Torpedoes**
If you love the water, want to meet new friends, and improve your strokes… then Y Torpedoes is definitely for you! The “Y Torpedoes” program is designed to help youth improve their swim skills & strokes in a positive aquatic environment. Each lesson you will learn or improve a new swim skill, play fun and unique water games and take part in a friendly individual or team challenge. On the last day the group will enjoy a swim meet where they can challenge other participants or improve personal bests.Pre-Requisites: Level 1- Must be able to swim 25 metres continuously or have completed the YMCA Learn to Swim Dolphin Level. Lever 2- Must be able to swim 25 metres continuously or have completed the YMCA Learn to Swim Star 1

Junior Lifeguard Club (JLC)**
This is an action-packed aquatic challenge for those who love the water! YMCA Lifeguards mentor and role model swim safety and leadership to all candidates while providing a positive team building environment. This program allows youth to further
develop and improve swim skills, and lifesaving knowledge. Other program focuses are: fitness, community education, leadership, teamwork and competition.
Pre requisite: Completion of Star Level One or higher
