The world of today presents increasing demands on kids, families and communities, challenging us more than ever to maintain healthy minds and bodies. Fortunately, since 1856 the YMCA of Western Ontario has built a strong history of providing the opportunity for life-long personal growth for people of all abilities, backgrounds and beliefs.

The North area of London presents a totally new opportunity to foster wellness and self-development among our people. According to the City of London's parks and recreation strategic plan, "the north end is in need for a major multi-purpose community centre." With the help of the City of London and private donors, the YMCA of Western Ontario plans to create a full-service community centre, to include both a YMCA and a Public Library branch, to service this rapidly-expanding part of the city. Both the YMCA and the City of London are positioning North London to enjoy the healthiest community possible, with the Stoney Creek Community Centre at its heart.

Time is of the essence because of the needs of this fast-developing area; the cost of land and building will only increase over time. Working closely with the City of London, the YMCA has created a sound business model for the success of this proposed community landmark, which will enrich the lives of kids and families.
