Team Building Facilitation / High Ropes / Low Ropes & Fixed Initiatives
The actual risk of an injury on High Ropes is extremely low. Its the “perception” that Ropes are risky that makes the experience exciting, meaningful and memorable! Trained and certified YMCA staff ensure that participants are fully briefed on the safety procedures of group belay and the equipment. Each climber wears a standard climbing harness, helmet and closed toed shoes while on our Challenge Courses.
Our two High Ropes Courses are over thirty feet high, and have a variety of tasks and activities for the group to accomplish.
Team Balance
This element is a large teeter-totter that sits atop a 25 ft. pole. A bell on a pulley hangs above each climber's head. Two climbers climb at one time: they must stand together on the beam, then walk to the edges to touch their bell, all the while keeping the element balanced.
Team Balance
This element is a small 2'x2' platform that sits atop a 25' pamper pole. The object is for four climbers to stand up together on the platform at the same time. Lots of communication and teamwork on this one!
Multi Vine
Two people attempt to cross a single, tensioned foot cable using a series of ropes suspended from an overhead cable. The trick is starting from opposite ends and having to cross over in the middle!
Rickety Bridge
A foot-bridge consisting of small wood planks is suspended between two poles. An adjustable hand rope is available to the climber. The object is for the climber to cross the bridge without falling.
Aerial Trust Dive
There are two different starts for the ATD: A slender 25' pole, or one that incorporates a platform to stand on. The object of the element is to dive off the platform into thin air while attempting to touch a buoy, which hangs out from the platform on a pulley just beyond reach. Talk about psychologically tough!
Space Walk
Like walking through space (but infinitely more fun...) Space Walk is a wobbly, spinny series of suspended square platforms that decrease in size towards the middle. The object? Make it from one pole to the other. Piece of cake!
Catwalk
Description: A horizontal telephone pole suspended between two poles, with no hand holds or balance ropes. The object is for one or two climber(s) to make it from one pole to another using their balancing skills.
Vertical Playground
Climbers must ascend a vertical obstacle course that consists of rope ladders, wood beams, tires dangle-a-mazes, firecracker ladders and more. A physically challenging element best suited to groups with a good degree of upper body strength and physical agility. |
