ABOUT US
The Outdoor Leadership Centre is located at 531 Windermere Road, on the grounds of both the Richard Ivey School of Business and the Scouts Canada Spencer Lodge. This location, just 2 minutes Northeast of the University, is an ideal learning environment for the YMCA of Western Ontario’s Corporate Adventure program.
Our team is made up of highly trained professional facilitators who will
expertly guide your group through
a day filled with activities and challenges designed to build relationships, spark discussion and challenge conventional problem-solving.
Our instructors are both highly trained and experienced in adult adventure-based learning. We know this environment has the potential to cause anxiety for some adult participants, but we invite you to relax! YMCA Instructors strictly adhere to the “Challenge by Choice” philosophy, in which each participant determines his or her own level of physical involvement during all aspects of program. (In other words, no one is forced or pressured to do anything they don’t want to do!) In this way, the entire team can achieve shared successes in a positive, ‘minimal-stress’ learning environment.

Our Challenge Ropes Course and Low Ropes Fixed Initiatives were designed and constructed by Challenges Unlimited Inc. CUI is an active level IV Professional Vendor Member of the Association for Challenge Course Technology. A.C.C.T. is an international professional trade organization of designers, installers and trainers for challenge courses. This organization has created standards for the design, installation, inspection and training for challenge courses. CUI assures the highest safety standards available.
Time after time, our corporate groups comment on the fantastic facility, the professional and enthusiastic staff and the care that is taken to maintain the highest standards of safety and well-being. |
